Prelude to the Festival and Endearment | Chapter 1

Riquet: I’m glad that the Ancient Temple in the East was successfully revived.
Nero: Yeah, we pulled it off somehow.
Bradley: Heh. It’s all thanks to us Northern wizards!
Lennox: It wouldn’t have been possible without the work of the Eastern wizards. I’m glad Shino and Heathcliff both recovered from their injuries.
Rustica: Yes, truly. But that fish wasn’t very delicious. The giant one that Mithra brought back.....
Nero: I tried using herbs and wine to cover up the mud and odor, but nothing worked. If it had been alive, I could’ve removed the mud, but.....
Lennox: You did what you could. It was never meant to be eaten. And if it had been alive, we would’ve had a lot of trouble preparing a tank for it.
Nero: Finding a solution in any circumstance is my job as a chef — that’s what I thought, but.... I did manage to get rid of the sliminess by rubbing it with salt, though.
Bradley: Well, it wasn’t like it was inedible. Mithra was stuffing himself full like it was no big deal. His taste buds are pretty crude, though.
Nero: But it sure wasn’t a hit with the West — a lot of them have refined taste.
I get super nervous when you or Murr lay down your fork and knife, you know.....
Rustica: Haha. Nero, your meals are always delicious. I would have eaten that fish if it weren’t for the smell, but.... What were we talking about again?
Lennox: The holy festival.
Bradley: We got sidetracked so naturally talking about food. That fish was pretty darn vicious, you know?
Riquet: It’s always delightful to receive gifts when people come back from their adventures. I think my favorite gifts are delicious fruits.
Nero: Isn’t it about time to revive the next ancient temple? The only ones left are the Southern Temple and the Northern Temple.
Riquet: We’re going to perform the holy festival to revive the ancient temples and summon the original spirits, right? Because that will help restore order by calming the strange incidents occurring across the world.
If you’re going to revive the Southern temple next, I would like to go too. The South is where Mitile and Rutile are from, after all.
Lennox: They’ll be happy to hear that. The South is a good place — I’d like you to visit as well, Riquet.
Riquet: Yes. Plus, Mitile and I were talking about how we’d like to go on an adventure together one day.
I think Mitile was hung up on the fact that I called him a coward who couldn’t even go out on an adventure.....
Rustica: It’s only natural to feel nervous when you’re doing something for the first time. I, too, was fearful before eating the fish. But you’ll learn to enjoy it soon enough.
Nero: You didn’t eat the fish.........
Lennox: Your first adventure, huh.... Now that you mention it, I don’t think Mitile has ever been on a long journey.
Snow: Lennox, Rustica. Come over here for a moment.
Lennox: Yes.
Rustica: Sir Snow, Sir White. What is it?
White: We’ve decided on the next holy festival! The Southern wizards are going to perform Southern Country’s festival!
Snow: The Western wizards will be their support!
Rustica: Speak of the devil. I’m sorry, Riquet. It looks like we’ll be the ones headed to the South.
Riquet: I’m jealous. Bring back some delicious souvenirs, okay?
Rustica: Haha, I will.
Lennox: Is it all right for us to be so laid back about this....?

The Southern wizards and Western wizards all gather in the hall of the magic headquarters.
In stark contrast to the previous festival — where the Eastern wizards and the Northern wizards were at each other’s throats even before leaving — everyone here is friendly to each other.
Mitile: So we get to go to the South with the Western wizards! I'll be your guide whenever I can!
Chloe: Please! I’ve heard all sorts of stories about the South from Rutile, so I’m super looking forward to visiting~!
Rutile: Chloe, you prepared our festival outfits this time too, right? I can’t wait to see them!
Chloe: That makes me super happy! So! So! Can I show you right away?
Rutile: Please, show me!
Mitile: Our outfits for the Central festival were really cool too! I felt stronger just wearing mine!
Chloe: I’m so happy~! You guys praise me so much~!!
Rustica: I’m happy for you, Chloe.
Chloe: Yeah! So here we go....

Chloe utters his spell, and in the next moment, everyone is wearing their festival outfits.
Shylock: My, what a lovely, gentle color combination.
Figaro: It’s incredibly comfortable. Thank you, Chloe.

Chloe blushes and laughs while covering his mouth with both his hands. Watching him makes me happy too.
Figaro and Shylock are peering at the map they received from Snow and White.
Figaro: The shrine is... Oh, it’s pretty far off. I’ve actually never been to this region.
Shylock: Looks like it’s a fair distance from the Southern tower as well. We might have to fly for a number of days in order to reach it.
Mitile: A number of days? So we’re not going to leave and come home on the same day? We’re going to stay for a few nights?
Figaro: That’s right. Leno, have you ever been there? Do you know if there are any places to stay?
Lennox: The Southern region past the mountains probably hasn’t been developed yet.... At best, I think we might find a small village.
Murr: Guess that means we’ll be camping!
