Prelude to the Festival and Endearment | Chapter 11

Rutile: << Ortonik Setomaouge >>
Muumuu’s fur floats above Rutile’s palm for an instant.
Akira: ...What kind of magic was that?
Rutile: It’s not really a spell — it’s more like a charm that will help us find its owner. Dr. Figaro could probably find Muumuu in no time, but....
I wonder if this will work....
When Rutile checks his palm again, an ambiguous blue shadow appears.
It looks a bit like Muumuu.
Mitile: Nii-sama, please try again!
Rutile: Got it. This time I'll draw a proper magic circle too.
Rutile pulls his quill pen — his magic tool — out of thin air.
He draws a detailed magic circle on his palm and places Muumuu’s fur on it. Then he casts his spell one more time.
Rutile: << Ortonik Setomaouge >>
This time, a blue after-image of Muumuu appears.
Mitile: Yay! Success!
The Muumuu darts across the grass floor and disappears into the darkness a little further ahead of us to our right.
Rutile: Looks like he went that way! Let's go, Mitile, Sir Sage!

(Rustle)
We keep running in the direction of Muumuu’s afterimage until we hear a familiar, adorable voice.
We see Muumuu, darting towards us across the grass floor, his fur spotted with sunlight and shadows.
Mitile: Muumuu.....!
Mitile exclaims and runs towards Muumuu, who leaps onto his stomach. Mitile hugs him close with a big smile on his face.
Mitile: Muumuu...! Geez, I was so worried about you!
Mitile brings Muumuu close to him and rubs his nose into the sea of fluffy fur. Rutile and I smile as we watch them.
Akira: Ah....!
I glance towards the depths of the cave and notice a crowd of giant animals slowly approaching.
It’s a herd of bear-sized Muumuus.
Rutile: Big Muumuus....! So this cave was their home!
Mitile: ....Muumuu's home....
Muumuu: Muumuu!
The Muumuus are big, but they’re relaxed and slow-paced, and they’re still adorable. Some of them are walking on two legs.
Rutile approaches a big Muumuu and places his hands on its stomach. His arms sink into the fur up to his elbows.
Rutile: Wow~! You’re so fluffy~! Your stomach is so warm~!
Big Muumuu: Mu.......
The big Muumuu looks like it’s been tickled; it narrows its eyes and turns its nose upward.
Rutile: They must be Muumuu's family. You did it, Mitile. You managed to bring him back to his family!
Mitile freezes for a second, lost for words. But then he hugs Muumuu and smiles.
Mitile: Yes!
Mitile puts Muumuu down on the ground, and turns him towards the big Muumuus. He pushes Muumuu’s round butt with his fingertips.
Mitile: Go on, now. I’m glad you were reunited with your family.
Muumuu: Mu?
Muumuu turns around and looks at Mitile. But when Mitile begins to walk away, he turns and runs towards the big Muumuus, mingling with them.
I’m worried about Mitile and try to chase after him. But that very moment, a handful of wizards come spilling in from the entrance hole.
(Crash)
Rustica: ......Oww........
Chloe: See! I told you it was pretty deep. Why did you dive in head first!?
Murr: Oh, there he is! Sir Sage!
Akira: Murr.... You guys all made it here!
Lennox: We just met up. Rutile, Mitile, are you here too?
Rutile: Yup, this wa~y! It turns out this was Muumuu's home!
Figaro: Hey, hey, Shylock. Did you see my sign?
Shylock: Yes, I did.
Figaro: Did it make your heart skip a beat?
Shylock: Fufu... I wonder.
I say hello to all the happily reunited wizards and head off to look for Mitile.
