Daikagura! Celebratory New Year’s Live | First Sunrise - 3

Subaru: Nn~.... I’m bored! This schoolwide assembly is so long, when is it going to end~?
Hokuto: Don’t get bored. We don’t have class today, and once this is over, it’ll be after school hours. Then we can do lessons and the like, so be patient for now, Akehoshi
Follow Anzu’s example. Look, she’s listening seriously and taking down notes, even for the Principal’s pointless speech
Subaru: She really is serious~, it’s a speech without much substance, so she should just ignore it~....
I want to leave in the middle and start my lessons, I want to dance and sing
Makoto: We really only have a few days until the Daikagura. I feel pressed because it seems like we haven’t had enough lessons
We hardly got to practice together during New Year’s break, so I want to get in sync as soon as we can
Hokuto: That is true. But, though the Daikagura has the special feature of “party tricks,” most of the performance will just arrange songs that we already have
It shouldn’t be too difficult
Considering how we are now, we should be able to complete the task fully so long as we do not let our guard down
Subaru: But those “party tricks” are the problem, you know
I memorized all sorts of tricks during hanami, though, so I should be fine~, maybe I should have the person on my belly work1 hard for the first time in a while
Why are they including such an excessive feature, isn’t it enough for us to just sing and dance as we usually do?
Hokuto: Yes. This isn’t a word I really like to use, but it’s that sort of tradition
An annual event, like “Sakura Fes,” that existed before the DreamFes system was established
Its purpose is to please Yumenosaki Academy’s investors, and greet them, saying, please favor us in this coming year, too~
We’re supposed to show them tricks to please them and loosen their purse strings
Subaru: So basically, it’s a reception? I don’t really like those sorts of things~!
Hokuto: I’m simply saying that this was what it was like until last year. Yumenosaki is a private academy, and was on a steady decline until last year….
In order to prevent precious investors from leaving, there was a need to entice them
But, starting this year, the situation has changed. It should be a fun live, where we invite regular audience members as well, and give our new year’s greetings
The essentials are the same, but it should be more free-spirited and bright
No, we are going to create these sorts of “new traditions.” From now on, with everyone
This Daikagura should be the first step in announcing our departure into this sort of a new era
We just finished the “SS,” so we could get stuck, unable to decide what our next goal is, but…
