Autumn Festival ✽ Hopping Lunar Rabbits of the Moonlight | Rabbits and Horns - 5

Keito: Hm. The school’s noisy today—well, I guess it’s been like that every day lately.
In any case. We’ll wrap up for the day; there’s no reason to rush ourselves. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Let’s proceed bit by bit every day.
You can all go home now; thanks for your work.
(...Phew. No matter how hard I work, the tasks seem endless. I feel like I’m building towers with pebbles by the river of hell1.)
(I was prepared for this, but I really am swamped with all sorts of duties.)
(Ah, I want to perform in a live... I want to dance and sing, without thinking about anything else.)
(If only I had two bodies—but my world isn’t made to be that convenient.)
(Well, it’s fine; all I can do is work hard. I’m sure the Student Council’s underclassmen will get better at their jobs with time—that way, I’ll have some room to breathe.)
(And I can take some time for myself... I should be able to.)
(Though it’d be a pitiful sight if that time comes when I’m just about to graduate....)
(Let me do whatever I can now in order to reach a happy distant future. Do your best, Hasumi Keito, you’re a man who can do it if he puts his mind to it.)
...Eep!?
You! Hey, Anzu! Don’t go putting something so cold on my neck, I just made a weird sound!
How incorrigible. ...Oh, you brought tea. Thank you. It’s getting late; you should hurry up and go home too. Your parents will worry.
Also. Thank you for helping the Student Council with paperwork and odd jobs, but don’t step out of line.
You have your work as the “producer.” Do your own job.
Don’t step into other people’s territory. It’ll cause unnecessary friction and bring about trouble.
Hm? Helping out with Student Council work makes you happy because you can learn all sorts of things...? And you want to support Mizuhanome-sensei?
How many times do I need to tell you to forget that name? How incorrigible.
...I am grateful for your feelings, but. Don’t push yourself. Different jobs are suited for different people.
If you fail to recognize that and take on too heavy a burden, you’ll get crushed.
This is a warning that comes from experience. I’m saying this for your own sake... Anzu.
Leo: Wahaha! You still lecture every time you open your mouth, Keito!
Keito: ...Tsukinaga, what do you want? I’m about to lock up the Student Council and go home, so if you have something to say, keep it short.
Leo: I know, I know. Also, you’re the one who goes on forever, Keito....
Wait, huh? Anzu’s here! Ucchu~ ☆
Wahaha! Were you part of the Student Council? You’re not, right? You’re not wearing the armband that a certain somebody designed.
Oh, wait! Don’t tell me the answer! Let me guess, I’m going to use my imagination!
Keito: Anzu was just helping with Student Council work out of the goodness of her heart.
She originally came here to submit a proposal, but she probably saw how we were dying from work, and couldn’t just stand by and watch.
Leo: Don’t tell me the answer! Geez, Keito, you talk endlessly even when I tell you to shut up!
Well, whatever! Looks like Student Council business hours are almost over, and I’m not such a blockhead that I’d get in the way of the rare sight of straight-laced Keito flirting with a girl!
I’m a man who can take a hint... ☆
I’ll keep it short. Is that ok?
Keito: ...I have all sorts of objections to make, but. Fine, go ahead.
Leo: Wahaha! You’re so full of yourself! That’s fine, though, here I go~.... Ahem, ahem ♪
Listen and be shocked; look and laugh2! Ta-da—what’s this? It’s a request form for a certain job called—[Moon-Viewing Live]... ☆
Keito: Moon viewing? Ah, now that you mention it, it’s about time for the mid-autumn moon...?
Did you say a request form? Why are you bringing me something like this?
Leo: Well~, I’m kind of here in place of Mama, you see....
I think Mama wanted me to take the job, but as you can see, I don’t have the energy to perform in a live, so.
Keito: No, you look totally full of energy.
Leo: Truth is, I’m not! I was away for a pretty long time, after all—just standing on stage makes my whole body shiver! Wahaha ☆
So! I want someone else to stand on stage for the [Moon-Viewing Live] in my stead~!
If they take on the job, I’ll pay them extra rewards, too!
It’s already a pretty amazing offer with a nice reward, so... I think it’ll amount to a good profit! Doesn’t it sound like a good deal?
Keito: Hm... I personally feel the same as Mikejima, and want you to stand on stage.
But it’s pretty obvious that you’re stretching yourself to your limit just by coming to school, so it’s best not to push yourself.
I’ll take this. For now, I’ll read the job request and evaluate its contents. If there are no issues with it, I’ll officially invite participants under the name of the Student Council.
Is that fine, Tsukinaga?
Leo: Yup, that’s ok-ok! Sounds good to me! You really sort stuff out fast, Keito!
I love how you’re a capable man, Keito... ☆
Keito: I don’t need your love.
Leo: Eh~? Well, you’re also the type who prefers loving others to being loved, after all! Wahaha ☆
Oh, I forgot to mention! That job offer—if you can, you know “Akatsuki” and... “Ra*bits,” was it?
That unit Nazu is in! I want you to show it to them!
Keito: “Akatsuki” and “Ra*bits”? Why?
If moon viewing is the theme... “Akatsuki” is the moon, and “Ra*bits” are rabbits, so it would be a perfect fit, but.
Leo: Oh, that’s a coincidence! So “Ra*bits” are bunnies? Now that you mention it, it’s in their name, I didn’t realize!
Anyway! I’m gonna go “tease” them from a different angle!
If they’re the kind of guys I like, they might just reach the answer I want!
Though you can never tell what’ll happen in the future! I’ll hope for it, wahahaha ☆
Keito: ...What are you saying? Make an effort to speak comprehensibly, Tsukinaga.
Leo: You’ll understand soon enough. Hey, save the fun for later.
Alright, I’m headed back now! My family’s gonna worry if I don’t get home in time for dinner! Bye-be~e~, hasta la vista baby~... ☆
Keito: ...And he’s gone. What the heck is with him—I don’t get it at all.
How incorrigible. I’m not satisfied with anything he said, and I have a bad feeling about this... Darn it, Tsukinaga—he really is a man who drives people mad like the moonlight in his name.

1. According to Buddhist mythology, children who die prematurely are sent to the underworld as punishment for causing sorrow to their parents. By the riverbed of souls in purgatory, they pray for salvation by building small stone towers out of pebbles in the hopes of climbing out of limbo into paradise. But the task is endless, as hell demons soon arrive to scatter their stones and beat them with iron clubs
