CHAPTER 1
???: ....Uu..... Ah, it’s all over......
I’ll never meet her again..... All because of that man. He was the one who destroyed her.....
......Aah, aaaaagh..... Aaaaaaah. How could you do this to Talia!?
He beguiled my precious woman — only to cast her aside without a glance! I’ll curse that man!
Even saying his name makes me feel sick to my stomach! But the roses that she loved will never forget his name!
Laying my beautiful darling to ruin, and forcing me to do all this.... This is all entirely his fault....
Heh..... Ahahaha....!
....I, too, will turn to stone, Talia...... Under the light of the moon at which you always gazed; I will become a stone, and dedicate myself to you....
....Goodbye......
....My beloved Talia......
✦✧☾✧✦
Murr: Oh! It’s the < Great Catastrophe >!
My dearest beloved.... You are as beautiful as always.
Even if I cannot touch you — I will love you, be it day or night.
Shylock: You utter such passionate sweet nothings.
✦✧☾✧✦
Murr: Shylock!
Did you switch up the scent of your pipe? Is it a little spicy tonight?
CHAPTER 2
Shylock: I received a batch of freshly-mixed tobacco leaves from the royal painter that we met the other day.
Murr: The white-haired artist from Central! Were you able to stay still, Shylock? Did he tell you, "Look this way"?
Shylock: He did.
Murr: Do you just listen to people when they tell you to?
Shylock: I tend to respond quite amicably to those who present reasonable requests.
Murr: Aw, I’m jealous~! I wanna become an artist so that you’ll stick me in the category of those who present reasonable requests~!
Shylock: He mentioned that portraits of the Sage’s wizards would be on display for the ceremony in Central Country.
But I am a bit worried. Sir Sage took on the role of the moon, remember?
Murr: Oh, the thing where he drew us in order of age to match the set of cards Sir Sage brought up?
Shylock: Yes. It seems like the cards are numbered to follow the trajectory of a human life.
Murr: How strange — the stars and the sun and the moon are all part of human life? What did you end up being, Shylock?
Shylock: You’ll have to wait and see. I hope nothing unfortunate will befall our dear Sage, who took on the role of the moon.
He chose that role, saying, "The moon is an ominous symbol in this world, so I figure nobody wants to be assigned this card."
Murr: Sir Sage said he didn’t really care, right? Being apathetic about the moon sounds awesome!
Shylock: How about you?
Murr: Wow.
Shylock: What is it?
CHAPTER 3
Murr: You’re amazing, Shylock. I’m trembling in awe.
I mentioned the moon, and you asked, "How about you?" — At a glance, it may seem like an abstract question, but it’s actually an essential question that strikes at the heart of the matter!
Shylock: That is because you turn the abstract into the essential, and the essential into the abstract.
Murr: And what is the heart of our matter?
Shylock: Where is the answer to my question?
Murr: I cannot be apathetic about the moon! For I love it!
Yet at the same time, I am apathetic! For I love it!
Shylock: I see.
The sea monster that the head astronomer mentioned isn’t showing itself.
Murr: The eyewitness reports were amazing! They said it was huge!
Shylock: What are the chances they were mistaken?
Murr: They’re stargazers; they couldn’t possibly be mistaken!
Shylock: I agree.... And now we have more trouble to deal with.
If the head astronomer is correct, then the monster that appeared in the ocean would be......
The long-extinct Leviathan — a legendary riparian monster that soared across the waters.
Murr: Let’s hope that the legends are correct! Because according to them, the Leviathan won’t show itself in front of humans!
Shylock: Unfortunately, legends are rarely reliable sources of information.
(Splash)
Murr: Maybe it’s that?
Shylock: It’s even bigger than I imagined.
(Roar) (Splash)
Murr: And it’s coming this way!
Shylock: Just as I thought; you can never trust rumors.
(Splash)
Murr: .......! It just went crashing into the observatory!?
Shylock: Are the workers inside all right....!?
CHAPTER 4
(Woosh)
Chloe: << Suispicibo Voitengok >> !
Observatory employee: Aaaaah..... You saved us.....! Wh-what in the world is going on....!?
Chloe: A giant monster leapt into the air and crashed into the observatory! Are you okay!?
Observatory employee: Into the observatory!? This building is a historic artifact, built on the sweat and blood of our first head astronomer, Patia!
Our head astronomer did mention sightings of a magic beast, but what kind of monster did all this!?
Rustica: That kind.
(Roar)
Observatory employee: ........!
Uaaaaah....! I-i-it’s the devil.......!
A thick neck that could pierce the heavens; giant wings that stretch so wide they could slice open the sky! A body that could split the ocean in two.....!
This is the end of the world.....! Oh! If my life were to end in disaster, I’d have rather it been at the hands of the < Great Catastrophe >!
Chloe: H-hey, don’t make a fuss, Sir! I might drop you! Rustica, will you say something to him!?
Rustica: What a tough fish.
Chloe: Fish!? Can we really call that thing a fish!?
Rustica: I wonder. Oh, right, Sir Sage mentioned this the other day.
> Option
Rustica: Mermaids are fish.
Chloe: R-really? But Sir Sage treats wizards and humans all the same, so....
Maybe he sees mermaids and fish the same way too?
Rustica: It’s always lovely to see the deconstruction of borders, regardless of species.
> Option
Rustica: Mermaids are not fish.
Chloe: Yeah, I agree? That’s why I don’t think that’s a fish either. Isn’t it more like a lizard?
Rustica: A lizard?
Chloe: Y-yeah.
Rustica: Calling that giant monster a lizard — Chloe, you’re quite the dauntless soul.
Chloe: You’re the one who called it a fish first!
CHAPTER 5
Rustica: Take a look, Chloe. It crashed into the cliff with such force that it tilted the observatory.....
Yet it swims leisurely into the sea, preparing to crash into the observatory a second time.
Observatory employee: A second time!?
Chloe: You’re right!
(Roar) (Splash)
Chloe: What should we do, Rustica!? If it crashes into the observatory again, it might collapse!
Rustica: Unfortunately, my magic is not strong enough to stop that fish. Let me cast the most powerful protective spell I can muster upon the observatory.
Chloe: Oh no......
Rustica: Will you help me, Chloe?
Chloe: Yeah! Of course!
<< Suispicibo Voitengok >> !
Rustica: << Amorest Viesse >>
✦✧☾✧✦
Shylock: << Invibelle >>
Murr: ............
Sorry, Patia.
<< Eanul Rambul >> !
✦✧☾✧✦
Observatory employee: .....! A light enveloped the observatory....! Did you all bring about this miracle!?
Chloe: We don’t know if it’ll protect the observatory just yet! We’re gonna make the miracle happen, though!
Rustica: .......!
Chloe: What’s wrong, Rustica!?
Rustica: There’s a red-haired lady wearing a cocktail hat standing next to the Leviathan.....!?
Chloe: Huh!?

Red-haired girl: Ohoho!
Observatory employee: The monster is going to crash into the observatory again.....!
(Crash)
✦✧☾✧✦
Shylock: ....Well, we did keep it from falling apart entirely.
Murr: My observatory....!
.........!?
CHAPTER 6
Murr: ........!?
Shylock: Is that a witch....!?
Red-haired girl: Serves you right, Murr Hart! I have destroyed what is precious to you!
Shylock: ..........
Do you know her?
Murr: I do~n’t!
Red-haired girl: Take these words to heart! Your sorrow is nothing compared to the pain my dear mother experienced when you cast her aside!
Shylock: ...........
Do you have an inkling?
Murr: None at all~!
Red-haired girl: You’d best be prepared for what’s to come! Ohohoho.....!
Ohohoho......!
Murr: There she goes. With the Leviathan.
Shylock: A witch who can make the Leviathan do her bidding — that would make her as powerful as Oz or Mithra.
Murr: Yeah~. Scary, huh!
Shylock: Are we going to witness another tragedy brought about by your actions?
Murr: Which me brought it about? There’s a lot of me out there, right? Is it a me that you like? Or is it a me that’s less your type?
Shylock: Phew.
Murr: Wah! Smells spicy!
(Woosh)
Rustica: Are you two all right? Did you catch sight of the tough fish and the "ohoho" lady?
Shylock: You make it sound as if we were leisurely gazing at a lake with a noblewoman.
I’m all right, Rustica. I’m glad Chloe looks fine too.
Chloe: What are we supposed to do about that monster!? It’s going to appear again, right!?
We need to head back to the magic headquarters and tell Sir Sage and the others about it!
