Mahoutsukai no Yakusoku | Main Story
MahoYaku Masterpost
Notes:
The main story is fully voiced, so please download the app (Apple | Android) and listen along. While we do include visuals where they seem important, it's infinitely more entertaining to see everything happen in-app. (Plus, the soundtrack is excellent!) The full main story is unlocked at rank 75.
As with all our other translations, this main character is a man and uses the default name "Akira." We've opted for appropriate alternatives for Japanese honorifics that show up in the text. The one exception is that Mitile still calls Rutile "nii-sama" rather than "big brother" or his name. Romanization for many spells was referenced from this Twitter user's work.
This project was a full team effort, and we had a total blast doing it. If you've enjoyed any of our translations and wish to support us, please do so by supporting MahoYaku so that we can all continue enjoying this story for a while to come!

The fantasy setting is an utter delight to read, and the writing is wonderful — quieter, impactful sentences with lovely turns of phrases — and that really comes through in your translations. What I enjoyed most about this translation is that I read in it the tone and rhythm I hear when I listen to the voiced story, without losing the tone or imagery of Tsushimi's writing. The end result reads so effortlessly crystalline. Thank you so much (!!!) for all your hard work - this is really wonderful and I'm sure I'll be rereading it again.
